I have been passionate about supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period since working as a mother-baby-group leader at the Edinburgh Steiner School 17 years ago. I began working as a birth doula in 2013 and shortly after trained as a placenta encapsulation specialist in 2014. Over the years, this work has deepened my respect for the incredible physical, emotional and spiritual journey that pregnancy and parenthood brings.
As a mother of four myself, I have always had a strong, intuitive sense of the body — my own and others’. Massage has been a natural part of my life for as long as I can remember, from massaging my babies to caring for friends and family members. I trained in Indian Head Massage back in 2008 and, more recently, completed further qualifications in Swedish Massage and Pregnancy Massage in 2023. I currently teach Yoga for Pregnancy at the Pregnancy and Parents Centre in Edinburgh, and am passionate about providing nurturing, holistic support to pregnant women and new parents. I believe deeply in the healing power of touch, and in the importance of feeling cared for during such a transformative time. Alongside massage and doula work, I also hold bespoke sacred Mother Blessing ceremonies to honour and celebrate women as they prepare for the powerful transition through birth and into motherhood. I feel grateful to be part of the Scottish Doula Network, a wonderful community of dedicated birth workers. I am also a breastfeeding peer supporter and host cacao ceremonies, weaving them into my work to deepen connection, healing and celebration. I love offering massage to everyone and take great joy in helping people feel relaxed, held, and supported, whether they are expecting a baby or simply in need of some restorative care. I will soon be offering postnatal massage, helping new parents in their recovery and adjustment after birth. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me outdoors with my children, enjoying nature, singing with friends and dancing whenever I can! You can find me on Facebook at Inspiral Birth.
